Eye Care Professional at Millcreek Optometry Centre

Dr. Jimmy

Dr. Jimmy attended the University of Macewan majoring in mathematical sciences and graduated 2018 with honours with distinction. After being accepted into the University of Waterloo Optometry program he developed a strong passion for many aspects of Optometry. He has been involved with many extra-curricular projects, including developing new ophthalmic instruments and 3D printing art for patients with low vision. He completed his ocular health rotation in Cold Lake Alberta and gained experience treating and managing a wide variety of conditions, including: Macular Degeneration, Cataracts, Glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, and much more. With a special interest in the developing eye, Dr. Jimmy also spends a large amount of time examining children, which includes but is not limited to myopia management, strabismus, colour defects, high astigmatism, and many others.

“I first became interested in Optometry because I love the feeling of helping someone, and I love face-to-face interactions. Being very shy myself growing up I know that the doctor’s chair can be daunting, but it doesn’t have to be.”

Dr. Jimmy grew up in Mill Woods, and has greatly enjoyed being back in Edmonton to stay. Married to his wife with three energetic young boys, he enjoys hobbies such as sports photography, astronomy, programming, and music that keep him busy.
